Instagram Banned Hashtags

Avoiding Instagram Banned Hashtags is essential for every Instagrammer.
Please consider that there are two types of banned hashtags:

1. Completely Banned Hashtags:
   Instagram completely blocks users from searching these hashtags. These tags have been added to millions of photos, but no results are displayed when these tags are searched on Instagram.
   We highlight these hashtags on our list with a red color: #completely_banned_hashtag
   
2. Temporarily Banned Hashtags:
   Instagram censors hundreds of hashtags. Some of them make sense, but many of them seem completely absurd.
   Searching for these tags reveals only a limited number of "Top Posts", instead of a full set of results, followed by a message:
   “Recent posts from #temporarily_banned_hashtag are currently hidden because the community has reported some content that may not meet Instagram’s community guidelines.”
   The message implies that the censorship of these hashtags is only temporary. However, many of the hashtags have remained censored for at least several months.
   

If you use one of these hashtags in your post, nothing will show up when others try to search and find your photo on Instagram. So they will prevent specific images from appearing on people feed, and by repetitive use of these hashtags, they will issue a shadowban for the owner of those posts.
Here is a complete list of Instagram Banned Hashtags so far. You must be careful when using hashtags, and you do not want to use them to prevent shadowban on Instagram. Browse the below list before inserting your hashtags. (The existence of some hashtags on this list will surprise you!)

Note 2: We do check and update this list on a weekly basis. So, If a temporarily banned hashtag is free again, we will remove it and add newly banned hashtags.
